Following discussions with the Welsh Brass Band Association, the National Eisteddfod of Wales has announced a significant change to the adjudication process at next year’s event to be held in Ebbw Vale in Blaenau Gwent.
Open
Instead of the normal 'one man in a tent', there will be three adjudicators for all sections, sitting together in the open: John Winterflood and Alan Lewis will be joined by Lloyd Landry.
This brings the adjudication process for brass bands in line with the major choir competitions at the Eisteddfod4BR

This brings the adjudication process for brass bands in line with the major choir competitions at the Eisteddfod.
Charles White, Secretary of the Association commented to 4BR: "We are glad of the opportunity to re-energize this very important contest, and to bring it in line with the other competitions at the National Eisteddfod. It is the only brass band contest broadcast live on television, radio, and the internet and as such, it is a very valuable opportunity to promote brass bands to the wider public."
