Smithills set for Stroud finale

The final season of the Stroud Festival will enjoy a youthful appearance from the talented lads and lasses of Smithills Schools Senior Band.

Smithills School Senior Brass and MD Chris Wormald have begun their final preparations for their fifth appearance at the Stroud Festival in February.

The doors will finally close in 2010 after 45 years on one of the banding movements longest running and best supported concert events, so Smithills were delighted to be asked to take part once again.

The band are sandwiched between Leyland's appearance in January and current Yorkshire Champions Rothwell in March4BR

As MD of Wingates, Chris Wormald conducted at Stroud well over a decade ago and prior to that appeared as horn soloist with James Shepherd Versatile Brass.
