There are a few minor errors to correct over Christmas in Andrew Duncan's 'A Hebridean Suite' — all in time for the Butlins Mineworkers Contest in Skegness in January.


'A Hebridean Suite' — Errata

1st Movement:
Bar 11: No crescendo in soprano cornet

Bars 41 + 45: Tenor trombones accented crotchets should be tied to following quaver.

Bar 53: Suspended cymbal final quaver in bar should have a trill mark.

Bar 66: Solo cornets, Rep, 1st Baritone + Euph. Bb + Ab throughout the bar.

2nd Movement:
Bar 22: Eb bass should have C natural throughout the bar.

3rd Movement:
Bars 43, 45 + 47: Bb in Glockenspiel.

Bar 48: 1st Trombone should have Db and Bass Trombone should have Cb.

4th Movement:
Bar 59: Solo cornets should be marked ‘All, div’.

Bar 104: Solo cornets should be marked ‘1 only’ and not ‘Open’.

Bar 110: Solo cornets ‘Open‘ marking not required.

Bar 129: Timpani should have an accent.

Bar 161: Eb bass 4th quaver should have an accent.

CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around

April 2 • . Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
