Leopard Coachlines Canterbury Brass is experiencing rejuvenation with several new signings and is very busy in the lead up to Christmas.
Standing Ovation
On the 29th November the Band performed at Crossways Community Church and received a standing ovation for their programme which included Suite Gothique, MacArthur Park, Horizons and many more.
This was the first concert for Canterbury under their new musical director Tyme Marsters.
Santa Parade
Sunday 6th December saw the Band march the 5km route in the annual Christchurch Santa Parade. The Santa Parade attracts a crowd in excess of 100,000 people who enjoyed the music from Canterbury which included the march “Appreciation” as well as some Christmas items.
Xmas Concerts
This year Canterbury has two Christmas concerts. One is their regular concert at the Woolston Club on 13th December and the Band will combine with the Christchurch City Salvation Army for a concert on Wednesday 16th December.
To finish the year there is a concert at Christchurch Museum on Sunday 21 December.
Renewed Spirit and Enthusiasm
After some tough times over the last few years the Band is looking forward to next year with renewed spirit and enthusiasm.
