With an enhanced line-up of players and spurred on by recent contest successes, Gloucestershire's Chalford Band has told 4BR that it is in fine fettle and eagerly looking forward to their 125th anniversary celebrations next year.
Leading group
Founded in 1885, the band is Stroud's leading brass group which fields four ensembles — from the First Section Senior Band and Fourth Section Academy Brass, to its Youth and Junior Bands with players of all ages and abilities.

The Chalford 'family' will be putting on a number special events including hosting a return visit by the Pionier Band from Gouda, Holland.

The band has welcomed back two former players, Les and Marie Pearse on euphonium and horn respectively, whilst Richard Grant, formerly solo trombone with Nailsworth, is another new recruit, this time on Bb tuba.
