High flying principal at Ripon

Ripon City Band has announced a new high flying principal cornet player.

Ripon City Band has announced that Mike Lumsdon has recently joined them as their new principal cornet.

Experience

Mike started playing aged 10 before joining the Amoco Band and then Ever Ready. After a break from banding whilst at university Mike became principal cornet with Durham Constabulary Band in 1987 before rejoining Ever Ready in 1989 as assistant principal cornet.

Squadron Leader Mike Lumsdon is currently the RAF Commander at RAF Menwith Hill, near Harrogate4BR

RAF

In 1992 he left Ever Ready to become principal cornet with the Northumbria Police Band and enjoyed numerous contest successes. Mike left banding in 1994 when he was commissioned in to the Royal Air Force.

Squadron Leader Mike Lumsdon is currently the RAF Commander at RAF Menwith Hill, near Harrogate.
