The Deiniolen Band ended their 2009 contest schedule with a win at the North Wales Rally held in Mold on Saturday.

Under the guidance of MD Gavin Saynor Deiniolen gave an impressive account of Philip Sparke's 'Diversions', pushing local rivals Llanrug into 2nd place in what was a very close contest.

Gavin told 4BR: "The band have worked hard all year and it’s great to finish the year as the local champions. Llanrug pushed us all the way and deservedly won the best march at the contest."

Mix of results

Deiniolen have had a mixture of results over the year, with disappointment at Harrogate and Pontins offset by their win here and claiming the runner sup spot at the Welsh Area and winning the Second Section at the National Eisteddfod.
