Lions Youth Brass has announced the appointment of star performer Les Neish as their tuba tutor and consultant.

MD, Nigel Birch told 4BR: "Over the past 12 months the band has struggled to recruit tuba players so we see it as a positive initiative, and with Les's reputation as a performer and tutor we are positive this will attract budding tuba players to Lions."

Performance

Nigel added: "As well as Les, we also have David Thornton as our Musical Associate, and with the countries very best bands we hope this will help the organisation sustain its current level of performance and development."

Meanwhile, the band is looking forward to Butlins and National contests as well as taking part in The Black Dyke Arts Festival and a tour of Spain in 2010.
