Following on from the success of last year’s Bolsover Entertainment Contest, the organisers have announced further innovative expansion plans for the event in 2010.
Split venues
The new Bolsover Brass Festival and will take place on Sunday 3rd October but will be split over two venues, due to the increased interest from competing bands.

Meanwhile, Ian Clowes of Goldy Solutions, undoubtedly the best brass band photographer in the businesss, has been commissioned to cover the event and to make his images available for download from the Bolsover District Council’s website for use by participating bands.

Full coverage
Carole Crompton has also been in discussions with 4barsrest.com who have agreed to provide full coverage of the event on the 4BR website leading up to the contest and throughout the event, giving live updates on performances throughout the day.
Unique book
Undoubtedly the most exciting announcement though is that Ian Clowes and 4BR Editor Iwan Fox will team up to produce a unique book of original photography and retrospective commentary of the day’s event with features on every participating band.
The book will be available as a limited edition print and when finished will be presented to the winners of each section as part of their award and will provide each band with a unique snapshot and memory of the day’s event if they wish to purchase it.
