The last few weeks of hard work certainly paid off for St Dennis Band after they were crowned champions at the South West Band Association Contest in Torquayon the weekend.
Fine style
Competing in the Open Section their performance of Peter Graham's 'The Essence of Time' saw them tale the title in fine style under the direction of conductor Derek Greenwood.

New players
In addition to the victory, the band welcomes James Hammett on cornet and Rachael Sloggett on baritone, both of whom were part of the winning band on Saturday and Sam Johns comes in on the front row cornet team. All three players are also members of the Cornwall Youth Band.
