Nigel Stedman has resigned his position as MD at Wansbecks Ashington Band.

Stedman

Wansbecks Ashington Colliery Band has announced the resignation of Musical Director Nigel Stedman.

For the last seven years Nigel has directed the band at all major contests and concerts, including the National Finals.

Workload

In a statement to the band he stated that, due his current workloads and forthcoming commitments, he was unable to continue as Musical Director.

Nigel told 4BR: "It was a difficult decision for me to have to take as my time working with the band has been great, but with my ever increasing workload I had little choice. I would like to thank the players of the band for the total team spirit and support they have shown over the last seven years, they are a band that continually show all that is great about brass banding."
