Foresters Brass 2000 has announced the appointment of Alwyn Green as its new MD.
30 years experience
Alwyn brings with him more than 30 years of conducting experience, though is perhaps best known as bass trombonist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for more than 20 years. He is also a well established teacher, composer and arranger.
High calibre
Foresters Chairman, Dan Baker, told 4BR: "I’d like to thank everybody who applied for the position of Musical Director. We attracted an extremely high calibre of candidates. The whole band is really excited to have Alwyn on board and we’re thrilled to have such an experienced and talented musician at the helm."

Enthusiastic
Alwyn told 4BR: "Foresters Brass 2000 is an incredibly enthusiastic band with some truly talented young players around the stands. I can’t wait to start working with the band and building on their current top-of the table ranking."
The Leicester-based band has some exciting engagements over the coming months, including a trip to France in the Spring and of course the Butlins contest in the New Year.
