The Shirley Band has undergone quite a few changes over the last few months, with new members joining and some familiar faces returning to the ranks.

Troms and cornets

The trombone section of Nigel Howard, Andrew Scarborough and Matthew Sharp are reunited, whilst Colin Eldridge has returned to bolster the front row and Catherine Kelsey on soprano.

Well underway

Spokesperson Rob Green told 4BR: "The development of the band continues apace under the direction of Dave Lea and Associate Conductor Kevin Short, with preparation well underway for the band's appearance at the upcoming West Midlands Association Contest."
