Reg Vardy has announced the appointment of Ray Farr as Musical Director for a second spell with the band.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "This appointment will help to solidify Reg Vardy's position and consolidate its efforts towards being one of the top ten bands in the country."
They added: "With Ray at the helm the band has given many first class performances in the past and after a two-year break both parties are now committed to realising the band’s full potential with an exciting schedule of events."

Plans
4BR understands that these include ambitious plans for concerts, contests, recordings, touring, commissioning, guest soloists, guest conductors and outreach work, plans that are said to be wholeheartedly welcomed by the band.
Reg Vardy will return to Durham University once more as 'Brass Band in Residence'.
Aspire
Ray told 4BR: "There should be a top band in the area where young brass players can aspire to join and which leads in playing standards and musical innovation. I'm delighted to be offered this opportunity and proud to accept the position to musically direct this fine group."
