Chetham’s School of Music is holding an Open Day on Saturday 17th October between 11.00am – 4.00pm for prospective students aged between 8 — 18.

Reputation

Chetham’s has educated and musically trained young people for forty years and has a world class reputation as the largest specialist Music School in the UK.

Current pupils include the reigning BBC Young Musician of the Year, trombonist, Peter Moore.

What matters at Chets is talent and potential, not background or ability to payBecky Wan

Open Day

The Open Day will be a chance to see what goes on inside the largest specialist Music School in the UK.

So if you want to talk to students, get a tour of the buildings, meet teachers to talk about musical or academic study, or see major rehearsals for the forthcoming concert, the Open Day has it all.

What matters

Becky Wan told 4BR: "What matters at Chets is talent and potential, not background or ability to pay — 90% of our students receive funding assistance from the government. This is a common misconception that is held about Chetham’s — we welcome students from all walks of life."
