The annual National Championship pre-contest festival hosted by Enfield Citadel Band is set to feature several new works by leading brass composers.
New and innovative
The pre-contest festival has been in existence since 1947 and has been the platform for many new and innovative ideas and works over the years.
This year, Enfield Citadel will be joined on Friday 16th October at St John's Smith Square by the all-female trombone quartet, Bonesapart.

Three premieres
Three new works will also be premiered too, from the pens of Philip Wilby, Ray Farr and Dorothy Gates.
Philip has arranged a beautiful pastorale setting of his SA choral work 'Wondrous Cross', whilst Ray has provided a scintillating rock arrangement of JS Bach's 'Fugue in D Minor' similar to his popular 'Toccata in D Minor'.
Dorothy Gates, music editor for the SA music department in New York, has written an original work for the evening especially for Bonesapart and Enfield Citadel Band entitled 'Soul Origin'.
Thrilled
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "The band are thrilled to be performing new and exciting works by such fine composers and relish the opportunity for more material from new composers."
