New quintet at Rainford

A new quintet of players has joined the Rainford ranks.

The Rainford Band has welcomed five new players to their ranks in recent months.

Quintet

Joining from Skelmersdale Prize are Simon Cunliffe on Bb Bass, and also his partner Nicola Bentham on 2nd Cornet.

Natalie Styles comes from the Dearham Band on 2nd cornet and Rachel Allen add to the ranks on 2nd Trombone and Beth Dilworth on 3rd Cornet from Wire Youth Brass.

Delighted

MD Neil Samuel told 4BR: "I'm delighted to welcome all of these new players to the band. They are all extremely enthusiastic and cannot wait to get into the new contesting season."

Workshop

On Sunday the 4th of October the band will be holding a full day of workshops in preparation for the forthcoming contest season, led by Philip Bailey.

Star player such as Morgan Griffiths, Leah Williams, Bill Carter, Ben Croombes and Neil Samuel will be helping out with individual sections.

Over the moon

Chairman Martin Rigby added: "I'm absolutely over the moon that all the tutors have made time in their busy banding diaries to come and spend the day with Rainford Band."

Harlow Brass Band

February 27 • We are a friendly, non-contesting band who have the following vacancies:. Trombones, 2nd Horn, Back Row Cornets, Percussion. . We rehearse every Thursday in Harlow, 8-10pm and play at local events throughout the year.


Banks Brass Band

February 25 • It's not too late to join Banks Brass Band, a friendly non-contesting band near Southport. All players welcome particularly euphoniums, trombones and basses. Rehearsals: Mondays 8.00-9.30pm in the Hub@Banks community centre, PR9 8BL
