Addlestone to revive ancient battles

There is to be a revival of ancient battles in Addlestone later this month as four local bands lock horns once more.

Four local brass bands are to meet in friendly competition in Addlestone in a revival of a local entertainment contest held annually from 1972 to 1991, and then from 2006 onwards.

Contenders

On Sunday 20th September, starting at 4pm, the Cobham Band (conducted by David Ruel), Godalming Band (David Wright), Mole Valley Silver Band (Andrew Wilson) and Staines Lammas Band (Glenn Hayter) will compete at Addlestone Community Centre, Garfield Road, Addlestone.

Each band will perform a half-hour programme of music which must include the march 'Death or Glory'.
