Wedding bells

There were all sorts of banding celebrations to be had when David Jones and Jayne Mason tied the knot recently.

Members of several bands celebrated the marriage of David Jones and Jayne Mason of Chesterfield recently.

Played out

David, repiano cornet with Carlton Main Frickley Colliery band, and Jayne, the principal euphonium at Shirebrook, played out their own duet at the Bakewell Register Office in Derbyshire on Saturday, August 22.

Best man

Best man was Martin Swann, also on the cornet ranks of Carlton Main, while the matron of honour was Jayne's sister Clare Bond, on the trombone bench at
Hatfield.

Banding line up

Afterwards there was a sumptuous lunch, and then they all boarded a Heartbeat-style single-decker coach to carry on the celebrations into the night at The Olde House in Chesterfield.

Joining them there were friends from many bands, including Carlton Main, Shirebrook, Thoresby, EYMS, Ransomes, Stocksbridge, Matlock, Ireland Colliery, Dronfield and Derwent Brass and members of the now-defunct Rhodian Brass and Riddings.
