Kiernan returns to Co-op

Former principal trombonist returns as Co-op rebuilding continues.

Kiernan

Following hard on the heels of the announcement of the return of cornetist Jim Hayes to its ranks, the Co-operative Funeralcare Band has now announced the return of trombonist Paul Kiernan.

Return

Paul made his return at the forthcoming Land O’ Burns contest on the weekend as a result of current principal trombonist, Gregor Stewart, being unavailable due to work commitments.

Regarded as one of Scotland's finest brass band trombonists, he returns to the band he graced for 14 years after a period enhancing his growing conducting reputation with the Clackmannan Band.

It’s about two years since I last played with the band and I’ve had a good break away. I am delighted to be backPaul Kiernan

Good shape

Speaking of his return Paul told 4BR: "It’s about two years since I last played with the band and I’ve had a good break away. I am delighted to be back. The band is in good shape and I’m looking forward to playing again."

Seasoned

Robert McCorkell told 4BR: "Clearly, the band are delighted at the return of a second seasoned campaigner to its team within such a short space of time and it is hoped that this augurs well for the season ahead."
