Fodens strengthen links

Open champions set to strengthen community links.

Fodens

Foden's Band have recently started to forge stronger relationships with two major organisations in Cheshire.

Musical initiatives

The first is with the band's local county council, Cheshire East. The band hope that a series of new musical initiatives will see them involved in new projects that will focus on music in schools.

Currently under discussion is a series of Masterclasses for 2010 and an exciting schools competition featuring the band later this year.

the appointment of the vice-presidents will add another dimension of the band's structureAndy Rolfe

Local ties

The band has also tried to build upon its local ties and has secured the support of three local businessmen to offer support and guidence.

Peter Foden CBE, Stephen Sebire MBE and Mark Greaves MIOD, have accepted the post of Vice-Presidents of the band. Mark, is Group Managing Director of Flowcrete, where the current band room is situated in Sandbach.

Indebted

Andy Rolfe from Foden's told 4BR: "Whilst we are indebted to Peter Fletcher, our President for his continued support, the appointment of the vice-presidents will add another dimension of the band's structure."
