The British Federation of Brass Bands is trying to encourage youth bands to become members of the organisation with an offer of a free 'trial' membership until the end of the year.
Free
Youth bands will be able to take out membership at no cost until 31st December. And, for youth bands who take out membership in 2010 the annual fee has been reduced to just £50.

Range of services
BFBB Chairman Robert Morgan explained to 4BR: "Traditionally, youth bands have viewed BFBB membership as more relevant to adult bands. However, we now offer a range of services, including unlimited free CRB checks and specialist insurance, which are attractive to youth bands.
"Youth bands should turn to their own Federation for these services and advice on other issues such as child protection, health & safety and sources of funding."
Support
Gary Walczak, Youth Officer for the BFBB added: "Many youth bands know the Federation as organisers of the National Youth Brass Band Championships, but don’t realise that we can support them in other ways too.
"We recognise the challenges facing youth bands and I am delighted that the BFBB is continuing to take positive steps to assist them in their day to day administration as well as representing them as a national body.”
