Friends help Arrow celebrate

A whole bandful of friends helped Arrow Valley Brass celebrate their recent 30th anniversary.

Arrow Valley

The picturesque Worcestershire village of Inkberrow played host to seven bands on the weekend, as Arrow Valley Brass celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Taking part

Taking part in the celebrations were Alcester Victoria, Avonbank, Blockley, Bretforton, Shipston and the hosts themselves, with the day rounded off with a splendid concert by the Staffordshire Band, conducted by Huw Thomas. The event was made possible by a Lottery Grant.

Visitors

Many visitors and friends included Robert Morgan, Chairman of the British Band Federation, Barbara Dunscombe, Chairman of the West Midlands Association and the Chairman of the Distict Council, who was interested in the possibility of this becoming an annual event.

Delighted

Arrow Valley MD, David Stanley was delighted with the day and told 4BR: "After conducting the band for its whole life, this was a great day for me.

"It seems to have been enjoyed by everyone. It makes the band delighted to have become part of such a welcoming community after our move here almost two years ago."
