The NASUWT teacher's trade union has confirmed that it has entered into a sponsorship deal with Riverside Band in the North East.

Although the band has carried the acronym of the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teacher's for a little while, the long term deal only came into place after the band had played on a number of occassions for the union at Galas and events and was ratified at the Union's Conference in April.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The Riverside Band now play under the name and like the Youth Band, they are proud to carry their new sponsors name."
