At the recent Jungfrau Music Festival, Brass Band Berner Oberland gave a joint gala concert with the National Youth Fanfare Orchestra of the Netherlands.
Mountain Song
Philip Sparke's 'Mountain Song' fitted perfectly with the alpine setting of Interlaken (Switzerland), whilst for the concert march 'Minerva', BBO conductor Philip McCann passed the baton to the composer and festival resident conductor Jan van der Roost.
New arrangement
The concert also featured a new arrangement of Carl Maria von Weber's 'Freischütz' for the forthcoming Swiss Open contest by former BBO bass player Bernhard Wüthrich.
