Prizes:

1st: '2,500 plus the British Open Challenge Trophy.
2nd: '2,000 plus the Frank Parker Memorial Cup.
3rd: '1,500 plus the Harry Mortimer Trophy.
4th: '1,000 plus the Edrich Siebert Memorial Trophy.
5th: '500
6th: '400

The winning conductor, Frank Renton was awarded the Mortimer Maestro Trophy.

The Best Soloist, Robin Taylor, euphonium, Grimethorpe Colliery, won the Stanley Wainwright Memorial Trophy plus '100.

The Iles Medal was awarded to Peter Wilson.

Murray International Whitburn, Wallace Arnold Rothwell and Asphaltic Newham were relegated.

June 7 • Our Community Band is meeting on Monday {9th} and would welcome anyone who fancies an extra friendly rehearsal,with coffee and cake involved.. We rehearse in our bandroom at 11am its free and it open to all abilities.. No commitment required.
