Prizes:

1st: £2,000 plus £2000 Guineas Gold Challenge Trophy, plus the Daily Mirror Trophy.
2nd: £1,250 plus the Frank Parker Memorial Cup.
3rd: £800 Plus the Harry Mortimer Trophy.
4th: £550
5th: £450
6th: £350

Each member of the winning band received a specially engraved certificate.

Hammonds Sauce was not invited to the 1984 contest.

The Iles Medal was awarded to David Read.
