The English National champion Black Dyke has confirmed that tuba player Ben Dixon will join the band on solo Eb tuba.
Mortimer Performance Prize
Ben is the current holder of the ‘Mortimer Performance Prize’ from Salford University, and the recipient of a Besson scholarship to study a Masters in Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music. He previously played with Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
Looking forward
Ben commented: "I’m really looking forward to my future with Black Dyke. I’ve had a great three years with Grimethorpe and would like to thank everyone associated with the band for their help and support during this time.
I also want to give special thanks to Ray Sykes from Carlton Main Frickley Band for all his support over the past 10 years."
