Report & Results: 2012 Pogson Bray Entertainment

Clifton & Lightcliffe lead the entertainment way at Pogson Bray.

There was a great day of brass band playing to enjoy at the Pogson-Bray Entertainment Contest at Berties in Elland on the weekend.

Wonderful entertainment

14 bands produced wonderful entertainment to an appreciative audience packed into the hall, with adjudicator Andrew White saying that he was very was impressed with the playing and enjoyed the entertainment side of some of the programmes which included plenty of slick choreography.

He also highlighted the encouraging sight of so many young performers and gave a welcome pat on the back for the hard working MDs who provided innovative programme sets.

Yorkshire battle

In the end a close Yorkshire battle so victory go to Clifton & Lightcliffe Band conducted by John Clay, with Emley a close second and Elland Silver in third.

Tintwistle Band

June 9 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team. . We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm under the baton of our MD Jim Henson, at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
