Old Silkstone Contest postponed

The Old Silkstone Hymn Tune & March Contest has been put back to September.

The Old Silkstone Band Hymn Tune & March Contest, which was due to take place on 14th July has been postponed. It will now take place on 8th September.

Understanding

Band Chairman Dave O’Connor told 4BR: "The decision is due to a number of bands withdrawing at the last minute and the absence of several bands due to their commitments at other events on the same day. We thank everyone for their understanding, support and continued interest."

He added: "The committee found the decision very difficult to make due to the significant local interest and in particular having the logistics of the event in place to make it a great event. We are pleased though to confirm that we will be rearranging the event for Saturday 8th of September."
