The three young players who will represent Wales in the European Youth Brass Band at the forthcoming European Championship Festival in Montreux will be able to enjoy the experience thanks to additional financial help provided by the Welsh banding movement.

Cornet players Owain Llestyn and Ffion Morris, and tuba player Josh Worman will each receive £300 to help meet their costs thanks to the initiative set up by the Welsh representative body Ty Cerdd alongside Cory and Tredegar Bands.

The European representatives and Welsh Champion each gave £250, alongside contributions from the three Welsh Brass Band Associations and individual donations.

The extra financial help for these talented young players is a wonderful endorsement of that and we are sure they will enjoy a fantastic musical experienceWelsh EBBA representative Graham Howe

Ideals

EBBA Welsh representative Graham Howe told 4BR that he was delighted that the players will be able to enjoy the experience boosted by the extra help. "Welsh banding is delighted to play its part in supporting the musical ideals of the European Youth Band.

The extra financial help for these talented young players is a wonderful endorsement of that and we are sure they will enjoy a fantastic musical experience."

In response Owain Llestyn from North Wales said: "We are so grateful for the support given to us and honoured to represent Wales at such a great event."
