Lighthouse signal attracts Masters bands

2015 will see the return of the All England International Masters contest at The Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering in May.

At least 20 bands have already agreed to compete at the 2015 All England Masters International Championship, according to the contest organisers.

Excellent response

Following the cancellation of the 2014 event, many critics felt that the contest, which was first held at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge in 1989, would struggle to return, but Philip Biggs told 4BR that the response from bands has been ‘excellent’ and that the contest will take place at The Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering on Sunday 24th May.

“We have had an excellent response from the bands,” Philip said.

“At present we have had 20 bands confirm their participation, with a few more waiting to finalise their plans. We are confident that the Masters will once again become an outstanding major contest.”

Salute to Youth

The set work for the contest will be Gilbert Vinter’s ‘Salute to Youth’, whilst details of the bands providing the Gala concert entertainment will be announced in January, alongside ticket arrangements.
