A new Ultra mouthpiece and CD release by Misa Mead has been launched to round off a record year for the EuphoniumStore on-line outlet.

Steven Mead's on-line EuphoniumStore has enjoyed a record year in 2018 thanks to further developments and links to the 4BR Shopping site which has led to increased demand for his endorsed products.

New items

Two brand new items in particular have really grabbed the attention.

Firstly the new Denis Wick Ultra 4XR euphonium mouthpiece designed by Steven, that is a brilliant new addition to the highly popular Ultra range of mouthpieces.

Ultra4XR

Steven told 4BR: "The Ultra4XR has a rounder rim, giving increased comfort to the player, with a newly-designed inner shape and slightly reduced cup depth.

The result is a new feel, almost a 'sports' model, with enormous possibilities in the higher register, with an ease of playing and crystal clear high tones. All that and the middle range is further energised.

Perhaps it doesn't have the same weight of sound in the lower register of the regular U4X but the notes speak so clearly, putting added energy into each phrase."

He added: "It's a mouthpiece that creates so many new possibilities for a player — boosting confidence in the higher range, and enabling extra playing stamina as a result."
