Further information:
Thundersley Brass Band and Epping Forest Band are proud to invite you to this special event to celebrate and give thanksgiving for the life of our friend and bandsman Matthew Schroeter.
Mat grew up in the Salvation Army and also worked all his life at Territorial Headquarters, and despite moving into contest banding later on he retained his love of the SA repertoire.
A Symphony of Thanksgiving was the piece of music he wrote his Thesis on at University and so this will be the major work we will perform that evening.
But there will be many other SA classics to hear as well.
So whether you knew Mat from his SA days, or from work at THQ, or from his presence on the contest banding scene, please come and join us that night to remember a great guy, enjoy some fantastic music and raise money for a wonderful cause!
Epping Forest Band are conducted by his brother Keith Schroeter, meaning of course Mat was a regular helper with us.
Epping are inviting anyone that played with Mat in ANY band in the past to join with them for their set of music to create an Epping & Friends band.
So you can even take part in part of the evening too if you wish.
If you would like join in with this then you need to send an email to the Epping Band Manager, Mel Hanmore () to confirm your details of what instrument you play.
Mel will also confirm details of a rehearsal that afternoon that it will be preferential (although not absolutely essential) for you to attend.
At the very end of the evening there will be some items from the massed bands of Thundersley, Epping & Friends so we are sure that will be a real joyful noise!!
We really hope to see many of Mat’s friends there that evening to give thanksgiving for the great guy and committed bander that he was.
