DID YOU KNOW?

The Fireman’s Helmet was first presented at the Australian Championships in 1973, as a gift to the National Band Council of Australia from the disbanded Melbourne Fire Brigade Band.

Only twice since 1950 has the Australian Champion of Champions not been won by a cornet, tenorhorn, euphonium or trombone player.

The oval or diagram march was dropped from the Nationals contesting program 13 years ago.
