One small step to Queensbury for Armstrong
23-Dec-2005Martin Armstrong has be confirmed as the new Solo Horn player at Balck Dyke.
After the news that was released on 4BR of the departure of Leslie Howie from Black Dyke, and the rumours of his impending signing, Martin Armstrong has been confirmed by the Band as their new Solo Horn.
The announcement from Black Dyke reads as follows:
~ Martin Armstrong
Black Dyke Band announces that Martin Armstrong will be taking up the post of Solo Horn.
Nicholas Childs commented "I am delighted Martin can join us, he is a terrific talent and has played in the horn section before joining Fodens on Solo Horn and of course latterly winning the National Championships with the Leyland Band".
Martin commented, "I had a great experience playing with the band before Fodens and it is the band I have always wanted to return to. Joining up with Dr. Nicholas Childs, the Dyke and my old pal, John Doyle, was simply irresistible."
