Ray Farr and his Reg Vardy (Ever Ready) are the first with the Sage for Christmas.

On Wednesday the 22nd December the Reg Vardy (Ever Ready)band made a little bit of history by being the first brass band to appear in concert at the brand new Sage Centre in Gateshead.

The £70 million development is the most high profile music venue in the North of England and has attracted much media attention. The band will be appeared in the Christmas Concert with Howard Goodall, BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year 2004, Waterson:Carthy, Black Voices and the Northern Spirit Singers

Highlights of the event will be featured on BBC Radio 2 at 9pm on Sunday 26th December (Boxing Day).
