Shepherd help the crowds flock to York
19-Jul-2012The Shepherd Group Band have done their bit to help the people of York celebrate 800 years of Royal Charter.
North of England First Section Champions, Shepherd Group Band, have played an integral part in an exciting project to celebrate 800 years since the city of York was granted a Royal Charter.
Ebor
Ebor Vox saw hundreds of people come together to form a huge community choir, which performed at the Eye of York, following a huge procession across the centre of the city, over the recent Charter weekend.
The joint forces performed a new piece, commissioned by City of York Council and composed for York 800 by Benjamin Till.
The Shepherd Group Band provided the accompaniment to the enormous choir, adding an extra touch of York to the piece.

Excited
Musical Director, Richard Wilton, told 4BR: "The band was very excited to be working alongside Benjamin in another community project to being involved in the celebration of their city.
We have spent the last few months building on our Area victory by entertaining the crowds yet again during our Summer season of concerts."
