Salisbury make progress
19-Jun-2012The Salisbury City Band continues to make great musical progress.
The Salisbury City Band continues to make excellent progress under the baton of MD Roger Allsopp, and recently performed at Salisbury Cathedral in the memorial service for Lt Col Woolnough.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We have thoroughly enjoyed playing for several mayoral events and we are very grateful for the start up grants we have received from Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire County Council."

Jubilee weekend
The recent Jubilee weekend began for the band with the Salisbury Royal British Legion Jubilee service at their local War Memorial, before ten band members played on the back of a lorry in Downton Carnival.
On Monday, they opened the Salisbury Jubilee celebrations with the Wiltshire Police Band under the baton of Paul Holland.
Culmination
The celebrations culminated in a massed band concert in City Hall, where Roger was joined in conducting duties by Calum Gray. The evening was compered by David Hayward.
