Verwood Concert Brass has welcomed a number of new players to its ranks ahead of the Area contest in Torquay.

Verwood Concert Brass has welcomed a number of new players to its ranks ahead of its appearance at the Regional Championships in Torquay.

New players

Barry Harkcom formerly of the Enfield SA Band joins on soprano, whilst Adam Glynn conductor of the Weymouth Concert Brass comes in on Eb tuba with David Johnson conductor of Aldbourne Band.

'2011 was a bit of a low for the band but with our new MD Kevin Smith and these new players coming into the ranks it looks as if 2012 could be a very good year'

Bandmaster Mike Dunnings told 4BR: "We are pleased to be able to attract such fine players. 2011 was a bit of a low for the band but with our new MD Kevin Smith and these new players coming into the ranks it looks as if 2012 could be a very good year."
